ToneTrade policies
Seller Policy
1. Selling on ToneTrade
Sellers list musical instruments and gear for sale to buyers on ToneTrade. You must honour listings, ship after escrow clears, and complete TradeSafe onboarding (including bank details) so payouts can settle.
2. Listing standards
- Draft listings on any device (desktop OK for title, price, condition, courier, description).
- Publish only after ToneTrade approves your seller account, and only with at least 3 live phone photos of the actual item (camera capture with location stamp for moderators — not shown publicly). Desktop image uploads are not allowed for listing photos.
- Disclose damage, modifications, and missing parts honestly.
- Set an honest condition: New, Used, Refurbished, or For parts.
- Serial numbers are optional and are not shown on the public product page by default.
- Choose one courier and a delivery fee (or free shipping) per listing.
- Do not list items on the Prohibited Items list.
3. Fulfilment
- Do not ship until TradeSafe confirms funds are in escrow.
- Pack instruments to survive courier handling; retain proof of postage / tracking.
- Dispatch within your stated processing time.
4. Verification
Sellers and Business accounts must submit identity and/or business documents for ToneTrade moderator review. Until approved, you may save drafts but cannot publish listings or appear as an active storefront. After approval you may publish freely when each listing has at least 3 live phone photos. Every ToneTrade checkout includes TradeSafe escrow protection for buyers and sellers.
5. Fees & payouts
ToneTrade commission and TradeSafe escrow fees are described on Fees. Payouts go to the bank account registered with TradeSafe after release.
6. Enforcement
ToneTrade may remove listings, suspend stores, or refuse service for policy breaches, fraud risk, or repeated disputes. Off-platform payment requests for ToneTrade orders are prohibited.
